5 Myths About Nutritional Therapy

When people first come to see me, they almost always assume it is going to be all about food. Like I am going to hand them a list of things to eat and send them on their way with a bag of kale.

But honestly? That is only a tiny part of what we actually talk about.

Here are the five myths I hear most often in clinic and the truth behind each one.

Myth 1: "It's Just About Eating Healthily"

Nutrition is the starting point. But the conversations that follow cover sleep, stress, nervous system health, energy and daily habits. Food is the entry point, not the whole conversation.

Myth 2: "I Need to Be Really Unwell to See a Nutritional Therapist"

Not at all. Most of the people I work with are functioning fine on the outside. They are just tired, foggy or running on empty and ready to feel genuinely better rather than just okay. You do not need a diagnosis to deserve support.

Myth 3: "I'll Be Told to Cut Out Everything I Enjoy"

This is not that kind of clinic. My approach is realistic and built around your actual life. No extreme protocols. No joyless eating plans. Just practical changes that actually work for you.

Myth 4: "I Can Just Google Everything I Need"

Information without context and personalisation rarely leads to lasting change. That is the difference between reading about something and working with someone who helps you apply it to your life.

Myth 5: "It Won't Work for Me. I've Tried Everything"

This usually means nobody has looked at the full picture yet. When we understand what is actually driving how you feel, things start to shift in ways that feel genuinely different.

Sound familiar?

If any of these myths have been quietly holding you back, I would love to help. Book a free 15 minute discovery call and let's figure out what is actually going on for you.
